COELIAC DISEASE AND DIABETES

Coeliac disease is a permanent intolerance to gluten and is recognized as a "malattia sociale" (social disease) under the Italian Healthcare system. The coeliac sufferer is protected by law no. 123 of 07/04/2005. In order to ensure a balanced diet, individuals with coeliac disease have the right to the free supply of therapeutic gluten-free dietary products.
We have a wide assortment of products for coeliacs and diabetics in the pharmacy, all produced by the main internationally recognized and certified companies. It is important to re-establish a good relationship with food: recovery from food intolerance is possible through the re-establishment of immunological tolerance towards those foods which may be responsible.
This is achieved through a full understanding of the allergic condition and with the help of a re-education process which can be encouraged by appropriate nutrition, special foods and with the help of those food supplements which most promote tolerance. Promotional days are organized days with staff who are qualified in the use of such foods.
